Gaza/Jerusalem – Palestinian groups, including the radical Islamic Hamas, agreed on Friday to temporarily hand over the administration in the Gaza Strip to an independent committee of experts. A “provisional Palestinian committee composed of independent technocrats” will manage day-to-day operations and basic services in the Gaza Strip, according to a joint statement after a meeting in Cairo.
