‘Stranger Things’ creators hint at Vecna and Will in new trailer

The official trailer for 5th and final season of “Stranger Things” was released to the public this Thursday (30), giving some glimpses to the public of what to expect at the end of the series.

Battles against the creatures of the underworld, Hawkins surrounded by the military, Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) more powerful than ever and many scenes in the underworld are in between. In the last scene, Vecna/ Henry Creel/ One (Jamie Campbell) appears controlling and levitating the body of Will Byers (Noah Schnapp), and says: “William, will you help me, for the last time“.

Ross e Matt Duffer – creators of the universe – explained in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, that the way to understand what the villain means is in the episode 6 of the second seasoncalled “The Spy”. “Will was actually working, in a way, for the Mind Flayer,” Matt stated.

It is worth remembering, at the time, the teenager suffered from memory loss, and when taken to Hawkins Laboratory, he is diagnosed as still infected with a creature from the inverted world, after being kidnapped in the first year. So, Will tells Dr. Owens that there is a place that the monsters are avoiding, and when a human team goes to investigate, it turns out to be a trap for the creatures to get to the laboratory.

“We started to learn more about what happened e what is the connection of”, adds the creator. Matt Duffer says that Will is the key to the conclusion of the story. “The story really started with Will and his disappearance, it felt like, To close the cycle, she really needed to break up with him in several ways. In the last few seasons, we hadn’t really centered much of the show around Will. So there was a lot to explore in it, both from a character point of view and from a plot point of view.”

In the fourth season, the Byers family and Eleven move to California, trying to get away from the events in Hawkins, but Will returns in the final episode, which was pointed out by Matt as a “space to explore the teenager’s connection and relationship” with Vecna. The fifth season takes place almost a year after the events that close the fourth, close to the four year anniversary of Will’s disappearance, a plot that begins the series.

Since the Upside Down, its creator and creatures were introduced, many questions have arisen that have not yet been answered. “So much of this season has been built around idea of closing the cycle, responding to many of the questions that were raised there in the first season. I think the two biggest questions that we didn’t really answer in the first season, but we did in this one, are: ‘What, in fact, is the Upside Down?’ e ‘Why was Will taken?’“, explica Matt Duffer.

After a three-year break, the series will return with the first four episodes of the fifth season on November 26th. A second release is scheduled for December 25th, with three more chapters and the last chapter shown on December 31st, which will also feature cinema screenings.
