Lanús secured a place in the South American final by beating Universidad de Chile 1-0, on Thursday night (30), in La Fortaleza, Argentina.
Afterwards, they needed a simple victory to advance and they achieved it with a goal from Rodrigo Castillo in the 16th minute of the second half.
The match was marked by two goals disallowed by VAR, one for each team, both due to offside.
In the first half, Marcelino Moreno had a goal disallowed for Lanús at 14.
In the final stage, it was Universidad de Chile’s turn to have Felipe Salomoni’s goal disallowed in the 10th minute.
The qualifying goal came after a quick move by Lanús, when Marcelino Moreno sent the ball through Rodrigo Castillo, who dribbled past the goalkeeper to make it 1-0.
Lanús, champion in 2013 and runner-up in 2020, is going to the final for the third time and will face the final.
