Unemployment rate reaches 5.6%, lowest in the historical series

Decreased 0.2 percentage points compared to the 2nd quarter; unemployment reached 6.0 people in the period, according to IBGE

Brazil’s unemployment rate was 5.6% in the 3rd quarter of 2025, ended in September. This is the lowest level for the period of the historical series, which began in 2012. The (Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics) released the result this Friday (31.Oct.2025) at 9am. The Minister of Planning and Budget, , (former Twitter) ahead of time, at 8:35 am. The unemployment rate increased by 0.2 percentage points compared to the 2nd quarter of 2025. The percentage of 5.6% was the same as that recorded in the quarters ending in July and August. The data is part of the Continuous PNAD (National Household Sample Survey).
