José Pacheco Pereira had a curious moment on CNN Portugal when he took a Glovo suitcase to the studio, as a way of illustrating his defense of immigrant couriers. During the debate, the commentator wanted to emphasize that these workers “are not stealing jobs from the Portuguese”, but rather occupying roles that many refuse to perform.
Pacheco Pereira also highlighted the precarious conditions to which food delivery couriers are subject, remembering that the majority “do not have any social protection” or labor rights worthy of the name.
