An increase of practically 9% between July and September this year. That’s 104 more clean euros, compared to the 2024 numbers.
Those who work in Portugal for someone else are receiving, on average, a net monthly salary of 1,298 euros.
This Wednesday, the most recent data from the National Statistics Institute (INE) was published for the third quarter of this year.
The accounts show that the average net salary of employees rose almost 9% between July and September.
They are plus 104 euros per monthfree of taxes and contributions, compared to last year’s numbers.
Os biggest increases in wages were found in the Armed Forces (1.990 euros), intermediate level technicians (1,387 euros) and farmers and qualified workers in agriculture, fishing and forestry (974 euros).
The most discreet increases were for assembly workers, security guards and salespeople and professionals in scientific and intellectual activities – doctors and teachers included.
The three professions that continue to have the highest salaries in Portugal they are: managers, directors and politicians – with an average net salary of 2,037 euros.
This new value is directly related to the salaries of political office holders and public managers, in force since 2010 (troika). The cut ended at the beginning of this year.
Unskilled workers have an average salary of 1,236 euros per month.
