The president of France, Emmanuel Macron, was warmly welcomed when he visited Salvador this Friday, 6th, before heading to Belém to participate in the United Nations Climate Conference (COP30). The Frenchman was greeted a lot by people, even being grabbed by some women, who praised his appearance.
Macron was called “beautiful” by women when visiting tourist attractions in the historic center of the Bahian capital, in the company of the governor of Bahia, Jerônimo Rodrigues (PT).
The French president was in Bahia for the opening of the Our Future Brazil-France Festival: Dialogues with Africa. He played drums with Olodum in Pelourinho, met Afoxé Filhos de Gandhy and even held a baby, with his mother’s permission.

In a post on social media, Macron stated that his visit to Salvador served to converge cultures and dialogues between people. “From one continent to another, we write the same story: that of peoples who listen to each other, build and act for our most precious common good – the planet”, he said.
Earlier this year, the French president became the target of memes that joked about his closeness to Lula, after a photoshoot of the two that was labeled by social media users as “couple” photos. Macron himself even posted one of these memes. The President of France has been married to Brigitte Macron since 2007.
