President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) signed this Tuesday (11) the decree that modernizes the PAT (Worker’s Food Program), with new rules for meal vouchers and food vouchers.
The text sets a ceiling of 3.6% for the fee charged to establishments, 2% for the interchange fee, reduces the transfer period to 15 days, prohibits abusive commercial practices and determines interoperability of brands within 360 days, allowing any card to work on any machine.
Companies will have 90 days to comply with the rules, which seek to increase competition and ensure transparency in the system.
