Vatican City – Moments of turmoil occurred on Sunday afternoon when Pope Francis arrived in front of the statue of the Virgin Mary at the Spanish Steps in Rome for the traditional prayer on December 8th. A Spanish activist, who was demonstrating against bullfighting with three other women and had already climbed over the barrier in front of the Spanish Steps, tried to attack one of the cars in the papal convoy.
