It was already December 4th. Do you have your barbies? Although it is an old Czech tradition, some still practice it today. On Saint Barbara’s day, people go to the river to cut a cherry branch. You then put it in a vase and wait 20 days, or until Christmas Day, if it blooms for you. This tradition can be considered pagan or Christian.
For Christians, the white cherry blossom represents the purity of the Virgin Mary. As far as the pagan tradition is concerned, young unmarried girls went for cherry twigs. They then put the branch in water and if a white flower appeared on the branch on Christmas Day, the girls could expect to get married within a year and a day. So how do you make your barberries bloom?

How to care for barberry

If there’s one thing barberry absolutely hates, it’s dryness. Therefore, refill their water a few times. And it is absolutely ideal that you mist them with water from a spray bottle every day. Just spray her a few times and she will thank you.
If you really want to get married, it is also a good idea to place a small bowl of water next to the barbour. Thanks to this, the buds will not dry out. And you’re done. Caring for barberry is not difficult at all. And if you give them a little help, you will be able to choose your wedding dress after Christmas.
