The match started at an intense pace. Fluminense started better and opened the scoring in the 21st minute. Renê took the free kick to Thiago Silva at the second post. The defender headed the ball towards Serna, who dominated and hit low, the ball still deflected off Andrés and entered the corner.

Vasco x Fluminense: how the second half went
Back in the second half, Vasco took control of the match. With possession of the ball and offensive volume, the team created chances and tied at four. Andrés went to the baseline and launched into the area. Nuno drilled the ball, the ball also passed through Thiago Silva and Freytes and left it for Rayan, free, to release the bomb into the goal.

The turning point came in the 48th minute. Rayan lined up in the middle and was fouled by Hércules. He took the free kick quickly, received it back and passed it to Andrés on the wing. The striker went deep and played for Vegetti to beat Freytes in the area and head into the corner.
