On the night of Thursday (December 11) to Friday, a tragic event occurred in one of the departments of the JA Reiman Faculty Hospital and Polyclinic (FNsP) in Prešov, when a 58-year-old terminal cancer patient decided to end his life by jumping out of the hospital room window. TASR was informed about this from the hospital.
As they specified, the event occurred shortly after a standard nighttime check was performed on the room by the nurse on duty. “During the entire hospitalization, the patient showed no signs of suicidal intentions. The event is the subject of a thorough investigation in order to clarify in detail the circumstances under which it occurred. The hospital has been closely cooperating with the relevant state authorities in the matter since the situation was reported,” the hospital informed.
According to her, the management of the hospital also expresses its sincere condolences to the patient’s family and loved ones. “In view of the extremely painful event, she is ready to offer them all available professional and psychological support in coping with the difficult life situation that has arisen,” they added from the hospital.
