Andrej Danko sharply attacked President Pellegrini: You bear full responsibility for the mess in the parliament!

The party will never again support him for any position. This was announced by SNS leader Andrej Danko in a video he posted on a social network. He again criticized Pellegrini, especially in connection with the veto of the law regarding the transformation of the Office for the Protection of Whistleblowers (ÚOO) into a new office.

“First, you betrayed Robert Fico in 2020. I’m not even going to talk about how you became prime minister in 2018, you founded a party, when forming the government, you asked the ministries where you have long fingers and at the end of the day, you just return the law, which is very difficult to pass in the parliament,” he told Danko Pellegrini, saying that he “threw Hlas-SD overboard”.

At the same time, Danko claims that the president knew the tension a re-vote on this law would cause. According to him, he is therefore responsible for the skirmishes that took place on Thursday (December 11) between members of the National Council (NR) of the Slovak Republic. “You bear full responsibility for the mess in Parliament,” he stated.

Members of the National Council of the Slovak Republic overrode the president’s veto and re-approved the law regarding the transformation of the ÚOO into a new office. They decided on it in Friday’s vote. Pellegrini responded that even after breaking the veto, he would not sign the law. He insists on his reasons. He pointed to the absence of reasons for abbreviated legislative proceedings, serious material comments on insufficient protection of victims of crimes and unresolved reservations from the European Commission with possible consequences for Slovakia.
