Lawyer says he underwent an ablation and decided to open what happened in honor of Roseana Sarney
Criminal lawyer Antônio Carlos de Almeida Castro, known as Kakay, 68 years old, said on Thursday (Dec 11, 2025), in the newspaper The Day, who faced and beat kidney cancer. The lawyer said that, unlike the emotional impact experienced by his father when faced with a mistaken diagnosis decades ago, he chose to immediately trust medicine. Two days after receiving the report, he underwent the ablation procedure to remove the tumor. Kakay said he decided to make the case public only now, after treatment, as a tribute to his friend, 72 years old, who is fighting aggressive breast cancer. He highlighted her courage and the former president’s support during the process, as well as reflecting on how the stigma of the disease marked his own family.
