Paris – French President Emmanuel Macron will appoint a new head of government on Friday. Macron has postponed the appointment, originally expected for Thursday, to Friday. The announcement will now be made in the morning, it said in a statement from the Élysée Palace in the evening. Macron said on Tuesday evening that a successor to the resigned conservative Michel Barnier would be appointed within 48 hours.
