Russia launches large-scale attack on Ukrainian power grid

According to the Ukrainian Air Force, vSeveral attack drones were launched against Ukraine overnight, followed by cruise missiles.

Russia launched a major air attack against Ukraine this Friday, involving dozens of cruise missiles and drones, according to the Kiev government.

Russian forces attacked the Ukrainian power grid, Ukrainian Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko wrote via social media.

Halushchenko said energy sector workers are working on repairing the grid to “minimize negative consequences for the electricity distribution system.”

The Ukrainian Air Force also reported that several attack drones were launched against Ukraine overnight, followed by cruise missiles.

Russia also used ballistic missiles launched against the western regions of Ukraine.

The Ukrainian Foreign Minister once again reinforced the need to quickly send more defense systems.

Since the launch of In February 2022, Russia has been bombing Ukraine’s electrical system, which has resulted in critical heating and drinking water supply systems frequently shutting down during the winter months.

Moscow declared that the attacks were intended to harm Ukraine’s defense industry, which produces missiles, drones, armored vehicles and artillery, among other weapons.
