Leandro Silva has already asked for the suspension of his term as councilor of the Funchal City Council. Victim was injured in the head.
O councilor of the City Council of Funchal, Leandro Silva, elected by CDS-PP, asked today suspension of mandateafter having ran over a person in the city center when driving under the influence of alcohol.

“My conduct, from which I I deeply regret it, does not honor these institutions that I have always tried to serve with honor and integrity”, he maintains, admitting that his behavior when driving under the influence of alcohol is “reprehensible” and therefore assuming “all responsibilities” inherent to his “serious act”.
“I’m sorry about what happened, I want to be judged and pay for what I did and I promise that such behavior will not be repeated again”, concludes the statement.
