CCEE records almost 21 thousand migrations to the free market in 2024

The number of consumer units that migrated to the free energy market from January to October 2024 reached 20,973. The services and commerce sectors stood out among the segments with the most migrations.

The mark is three times higher than that registered in the entire year 2023, according to data from the Electric Energy Trading Chamber (CCEE).

CCEE records almost 21 thousand migrations to the free market in 2024

Market opening was expanded this year, with the possibility of small and medium-sized companies entering the free contracting environment (ACL).

Establishments such as bakeries, supermarkets, pharmacies and offices accounted for 77% of customers who migrated in 2024.

Retail trader

To date, 58,875 consumer units have already migrated to the free market. Of this total, 18,344 are represented in the CCEE by retail traders.

In 2024, 5,596 consumers from the service sector joined the ACL. Commerce is in second place, with 5,058. The manufacturing industry had 2,431 representatives in total migrations.

Other industrial sectors, which were already included in the previous rules, which allowed migration in high voltage, had a more discreet participation this year.

Among the states, the highlight is São Paulo, which registered 6,847 migrations. The top 3 is completed by Rio Grande do Sul (2,131) and Rio de Janeiro (1,709).
