Caio Paulista was presented this Monday (5) as a new reinforcement of the Grêmio for the 2026 season. During the interview in the CT Luiz Carvalho press conference room, in Porto Alegre, the left-back opened up about the difficulties in the last two seasons — for Atlético-MG e Palm trees.
“The last two years were a little more complicated for me. So much for the difficulty I had with teammates in the same position. At Palmeiras, Piquerez was the owner of the position. At Atlético-MG, Arana himself. I don’t think it will be any different here, there are very qualified players in the position, but I’m going to look for my space. I didn’t have that much of a streak last year,” he said.

Caio Paulista played for Atlético-MG in 2025, was a reserve and participated in just 36 matches with the black and white shirt. During this period, the professional did not score any goals and only provided one assist.
The left-back had arrived at Galo on loan with an option to purchase — which was not exercised by the Minas Gerais club. Without convincing, the full-back had his exit defined about three weeks ago.
Since 2024 linked to Palmeiras, Caio Paulista has a contract until the end of 2028. and will compete for position with Marlon, ex-Cruzeiro, absolute starter in 2025.
“Every time the opportunity arises, I will try to make the most of it. I will also learn a lot from Marlon, just as he will be able to evolve with me, together”, added Caio Paulista.
