The jet ski used in a video that went viral on social media showing the vehicle traveling through a flooded street in Planaltina de Goiás (GO) was seized by Goiás Civil Police (PCGO) this Monday (5). The case gained great repercussion after the images, recorded on the day December 31stsurpass 1 million views.
The vehicle belongs to Gustavo Moreira25 years old. According to him, the seizure occurred directly due to the popularity of the video. “I never wanted to challenge the government, it was just a joke and I intend to get a lawyer to deal with the case, this is persecution”, he declared.
Police approach and seizure of the vehicle
According to Gustavo, the police officers’ approach was unexpected. He stated that the agents had gone to his automotive workshop posing as buyers and, only later, identified themselves as civil police officers. After identification, investigators requested an inspection of the jet ski.
The young man reported that he accompanied the police officers to his residence and was instructed to appear at the police station. Integrated Security Operations Center (CIOPS)where he gave testimony. According to him, the delivery of the vehicle occurred voluntarily. “I myself, spontaneously, came with the police, took the jet ski, hitched it to the car and left it there,” he stated.
Wanted, the PCGO reported that the jet ski remains seized at the police station in Planaltina de Goiás. The corporation added that the owner does not have a license to ride a watercraft e did not present vehicle documentation or proof of purchasewhich motivated the measure.
The case remains under investigation by the Civil Police.
