Bruno Pivetti is the coach who leads Flamengo on the edge of the pitch today against Portuguesa-RJ. He is the current coach of the club’s under-20 team and assumes responsibility at the start of the Campeonato Carioca because the coach of the professional team, Filipe uís, and the entire main squad are still on their last day of vacation.

Who is Bruno Pivetti?
Bruno Pivetti arrived at Flamengo in July 2025 to replace the Portuguese Nuno Campos. Before taking over the red-black base, he spent time with professional teams such as Vitória, Guarani, Náutico and Operário-PR, where he was champion of Paraná. His hiring is part of a three-year project with the club to integrate the base into the professional’s game model.
As the main group only returns this Monday (12) after the World Cup/Intercontinental at the end of 2025, Pivetti chose a team full of young promises for the 6pm match at the Raulino de Oliveira Stadium. Among the names he commands today, the highlight is striker Wallace Yan, who cut short his rest to reinforce the kids.
The idea is that Pivetti will lead the team in these initial rounds until Filipe Luís completes the physical preparation of the starters, which should happen close to the classic against Vasco on January 21st.
