Thousands of incidents during the storm Kristin: Hundreds of thousands of people without electricity, victims report!

Storm Kristin killed at least three people and left more than 800,000 without power on Wednesday in central and northern Portugal. It is gradually moving over mainland Spain, writes TASR based on a Reuters report.

The storm in Portugal uprooted trees, damaged buildings and disrupted road and train transport. One person died after a tree fell on their car due to strong winds in the town of Vila Franca de Xira, two others were killed in the Leiria region.

Authorities in the country register more than 3,000 incidents associated with extreme weather. In some places, the wind reaches a speed of up to 150 kilometers per hour and is accompanied by heavy rain and snow. According to the distribution network operator E-REDES, technical teams worked in the afternoon to restore supplies to approximately half a million customers. In total, around 855,000 people remained without electricity.
