Malmö/Herning – Germany, Iceland and Croatia followed Denmark into the semi-finals of the European Handball Championship. The Icelanders made it into the top four teams for the first time in 16 years with a 39:31 (18:16) win against Slovenia on Wednesday in Malmö. The Germans are playing for their first European Championship medal since the title in 2016. Austria’s opponents in the preliminary round won the duel with France in Herning that determined promotion 38:34 (19:15). Germany will face Croatia in the semi-finals.
