Slovaks love their films! A well-known colleague († 85) of the legendary duo of Bud Spencer and Terence Hill has died

At the age of 85, the Colombian-Italian actor Salvatore Basile, who became famous mainly in popular films with Bud Spencer and Terence Hill, died. The artist died on Monday at his home in Cartagena, Colombia, the city’s mayor announced.

Basile appeared in many films as the antagonist of the legendary duo Spencer-Hill. Among his most famous roles is the role of Frisk, the leader of a gangster gang in the film Who Finds a Friend Finds a Treasure (1981). The line “You’re getting tougher, Frisco” is among the oft-quoted lines among fans of these films.

During his career, he portrayed many diverse characters. He appeared in the spaghetti western Then in the West, but also in horror and crime films. However, the comedy and action films with Bud Spencer and Terence Hill brought him the greatest popularity, in which he acted a total of eight times, among them Two Missionaries, Soldier of Fortune, Even and Odd, Sheriff and Alien 2, Buddy Goes West, Kincs, ami ninny, Banana Joe and Bomber.

Salvatore Basile was born on May 18, 1940 in Naples. He came to Cartagena in 1968 due to work obligations, but finally settled there permanently. The mayor of the city described him as “the most Cartagena Italian of all”. “He once said that Cartagena is the city where he will die and where he will be buried,” added the mayor.
