The Rio de Janeiro Court annulled on Thursday (29) the municipal congress held in February last year in the capital of Rio de Janeiro, which will also result in the annulment of the party’s state and national meetings.
The decision, by judge Marcos Antônio Ribeiro de Moura Brito, of the 29th Civil Court of the Capital, serves the minister’s group (Environment), which is in a dispute with the wing led by federal deputy Heloísa Helena (RJ).
As a consequence, the party’s command, mostly aligned with Helena, must be removed, generating the need for a new internal election. However, the decision can be appealed.
In the sentence, the magistrate recognized the existence of serious irregularities in the process of calling, accrediting and voting at the municipal convention.
Among the problems highlighted are the publication of the congress within a period shorter than the minimum required by the internal regulations, inadequate use of social networks as the only means of convening, failures to verify the identity of participants and fraud in the registration of signatures of people who were not present.
The group linked to Marina claims that the rival wing has sought to restrict spaces for internal deliberation and has adopted the practice of intervening in directories controlled by the minister’s wing.
The dispute could culminate in Marina and her group leaving the party. The minister talks to parties such as PT, PSOL and PSB, but has not yet defined her destiny.
