The minister, from the STF (Supreme Federal Court), has pneumonia and will not attend the opening session of the judicial year in person this Monday.
According to a note from the office, Fux has already informed the president of the court, Edson Fachin, that he will participate via videoconference in next week’s sessions, as the disease is transmissible.
The minister was diagnosed with double pneumonia – that is, when the disease affects both lungs – caused by the influenza virus. His clinical condition is stable and he is recovering at home.
