Portugal in maximum state of readiness due to “very complex” meteorological situation

Projection at the polls gives a slight advantage to the PSD in Lisbon and Porto

O national emergency and civil protection commander, Mário Silvestre, announced the elevation of the state of readiness to the maximum level (4) throughout the country due to a very complex meteorological situation expected for the next few days.

The national emergency and civil protection commander warned this Tuesday of the “very complex” meteorological situation expected for the next few days, which forced the device to be raised to the highest level of readiness.

“Based on this meteorological situation, the entire country was elevated to state of special readiness 4, the highest level we have, which implies 100% of the capacity of civil protection agents available”, stated Mário Silvestre, in a press conference at the headquarters of the National Emergency and Civil Protection Authority (ANEPC).

Given the very complex meteorological situation that is predicted, the national commander appealed to the population to pay attention to meteorological phenomena, such as rain and strong winds, sea agitation with waves that can reach 11 meters, snowfall and the possibility of flooding.
