Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk arrived in Kyiv accompanied by the Minister of Finance and Economy to agree with President Zelensky on further support and participation of Poland in major investment projects after the end of the fighting. The visit takes place at a time of ongoing Russian attacks on the energy infrastructure, which significantly worsen the living conditions of the capital’s residents.

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk arrived on Thursday morning for a visit to Kyiv, where he met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. The negotiations concerned the continued support of Ukraine and the possibilities of post-war reconstruction of the country. This is reported by the Warsaw correspondent TASR, according to the PAP agency.

Russian attacks continue

The visit comes amid ongoing Russian attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, causing widespread blackouts of electricity and heat supplies. The situation, especially in the capital, has been critical for a long time and the residents work in extremely difficult conditions.

During his stay in Kyiv, Tusk together with Zelensky laid wreaths at the monuments of defenders of Ukraine and at the Polish War Cemetery in Bykivni. In recent weeks, Poland has also provided assistance to Ukraine in the form of generators from state stocks and public collections. In recent days, Polish and Slovak volunteers from Krakow distributed thousands of portions of the traditional Polish soup žurek in the city.

Negotiations in the UAE

In the United Arab Emirates (UAE) at the end of January, trilateral negotiations between the USA, Russia and Ukraine on ending the war began, which the Ukrainian president described as constructive. The second round of these negotiations continues on Thursday in the capital of the UAE, Abu Dhabi.
