A medical examination regarding (PL) indicates that the former president needs special care in Papudinha, where he is serving his sentence, and is at risk of falling, but without the need for transfer to a hospital.
The report prepared by the Federal Police at the request of the minister, of the (Supreme Federal Court), concludes that it is necessary to optimize treatments and preventive measures in relation to Bolsonaro, who has chronic diseases under control.
Moraes asked the former president’s defense and the Attorney General’s Office to comment on the expertise.
The doctors’ visit to Bolsonaro in Papudinha, as the 19th Military Police Battalion is known in , located in the Papuda prison complex, took place on the 20th. They interviewed and examined the former president, checked the results of previous exams and inspected the conditions of the place.
PF doctors concluded that the combined use of certain medications is related to the risk of falling. “The expert [Bolsonaro] presents neurological signs and symptoms that increase the potential risk of new episodes of falling, requiring diagnostic investigation”, he says.
“The concomitant use, especially of medications that act on the central nervous and cardiovascular systems, therefore creates a risky pharmacological scenario, in which possible adverse effects — sedation, lethargy, dizziness, psychomotor slowing and postural hypotension — are related to the risk of falling”, states another excerpt.
According to the report, the recent episode of the former president’s fall indicates that this could happen again. There is, doctors say, “a real and present risk of recurrence, especially in the absence of ongoing surveillance.”
