Alpine Skiing
Alpine skiing is one of the traditional winter sports. In the Olympic program since 1936, the sport is practiced on a ski slope, where the athlete descends a path at speed and must pass through stakes set in the snow called “doors”. The objective is to finish the route in the shortest time. In this year’s edition, there are 10 modalities. Brazilians Alice Padilha, Christian Oliveira, Giovanni Ongaro and Lucas Pinheiro will compete in the slalom and giant slalom categories.

At the Milan-Cortina Olympics, there are 12 categories of competition. Brazil is represented in the sport by Bruna Moura, Eduarda Ribeira and Manex Silva.

Skeleton
Despite being one of the oldest winter sports, skeleton has been part of the Olympic program continuously since 2002. In this modality, athletes also go down an ice track on a sled, the difference is, after the initial push, they lie down on their stomachs and guide the equipment with body movements. In Italy, three categories will be competed: men, women and mixed team. For Brazil, Nicole Silveira will seek the podium.

Brazil has two representatives: Augustinho Teixeira and Pat Burgener.
