Carnival season is the best time to indulge a bit of sweet madness and try to prepare traditional delicacies. Of course, they are in the lead, but the beloved faworki are right behind them.
However, they don’t always have to taste the same. This time it is worth giving them a unique aroma and a slightly new character. And it’s all thanks to cinnamon. Sounds surprising? Only until the first bite. This new version of the classic wattle is truly finger-licking good.
Faworki themselves delight with their crispness and delicacy of the dough. Sprinkled with powdered sugar, they are a timeless classic that should be slightly modified at the next opportunity, especially since it is surprisingly simple.
Looking for inspiration for carnival delicacies, It’s worth trying to prepare cinnamon rolls. Thanks to the addition of this aromatic spice they gain a slightly spicy aroma and pleasant taste, which fits perfectly into the winter-carnival atmosphere.
Cinnamon combined with powdered sugar and a hint of vanilla does not dominate, but subtly composes and highlights the taste of the shortcrust, crunchy cake. This is a simple way to diversify traditional baking, which I have been using for years. Guests always ask for the recipe, because this slightly varied form of faworki delights and stays in your memory for a long time. And it’s all really that simple!
