Cervecería La Sureña, originating in Andalusia, became known for serving tapas accompanied by buckets of beer bottles. The relaxed and fun spirit born in Huelva, in 2010, has now arrived at Campo Pequeno, in Lisbon.
Popular for serving the most varied tapas from southern Spain accompanied by cold beer and a relaxed atmosphere, Cervecería La Sureña has now arrived in Lisbon, more precisely in Campo Pequeno.
With the aim of becoming “a new meeting point for friends, co-workers and convivial moments throughout the day, with special emphasis on afterwork”, the brewery is betting on the fame achieved by its their “El Cubo”, a bucket (grid) of 9 mini Super Bock beers, which in Lisbon cost €6.
Every Thursday and Sunday, the bucket arrives at the table with a “2×1” promotion. In other words, for the same price, in addition to the beers you can order a snack, which is served as a gift. On “Terças Prensadas”, for €2, you can drink a beer and a “Planchadito”.
Created in 2010, in the Islantilla beach area, near the city of Huelva, in Andalusia, the Today it has more than 50 establishments. It gained popularity by presenting “an innovative way of consumption: snacks accompanied by buckets of beer bottles, in a peaceful, fun and lively environment that transmits the spirit of the South to the customer”, can be read in the description of the brewery, which in Portugal is represented by which owns brands such as 100 Montaditos, TGB – The Good Burger and Pepe Taco.
In the commercial area of the Sagres Campo Pequeno building, the new Cervecería La Sureña, which opens daily from 11am to 11pm, is spread over two floors and also has a terrace. The atmosphere is relaxed and, according to those responsible for the brand, it becomes lively in the late afternoon, taking into account the offer of snacks to share. The menu accommodates two “Tapas”, the “100% Ibérico Ham” and the “Cooked Prawns”, both for €10.
The largest offer is gathered in the “Papelones” section, which, as the name suggests, are served in paper packaging and always accompanied by “potato chips”. So, for €6 you can order “Ham croquettes”, “Shrimp tortillitas” and “Cod pastries”. The options “Fried dogfish”, “Puntillita”, “Fried gulas”, breaded and with lemon, “Calamares”, “Chicken pans”, with mustard and honey sauce, “Chicken wings”, with BBQ sauce, and “Ovos rotos”, with ham, cost €8.
The first menu of La Surena Brewery (Sagres Campo Pequeno, Loja: 601, Piso 1, Lisbon. Tel. 217970574) also offers “Planchaditos” (€3), which can include everything from sirloin to garlic, as well as just ham and Gouda cheese. As appetizers (€1.50) count on the famous “Gilda” pintxo, with anchovies, and “Olives”.
At lunch, the new brewery offers the “Menu Gamberro” (€8), which includes a burger, fries and drink. There are two versions of the burger: “Sureño”, with garlic prawns, Cheddar cheese and alioli sauce; and “Huévon”, which adds egg to the dish.
