Black day in the mountains: Masses of snow overwhelmed skiers, four victims are reported after a series of avalanches!

Four people were killed and several others injured in several avalanches in the mountains of northern Italy on Saturday. TASR writes about it according to the DPA agency. One avalanche occurred in the Valtellina region of the Italian Alps. The snow hit three skiers there, two of whom died. Two more avalanches are reported from the Trident region, from where rescue services report two more victims.

The incident also took place in the Aosta Valley near the borders with Switzerland and France. There, an avalanche overwhelmed two skiers from a group of five. However, thanks to their equipment, they managed to free themselves from the snow. All the incidents happened on a day when the avalanche danger is high in the Italian mountains.
