The new rule creates an extraordinary regime of partial progression with the aim of reducing school dropouts. According to the guidelines, students in the 1st and 2nd year of high school will be able to continue to the following academic year even with up to six outstanding subjects.
To ensure that they remain in the next grade, students must comply with a special recovery plan, which will be defined by each school unit. All dependent subjects will need to be completed by the end of the first quarter of the following academic year.

In the case of students in the 3rd year of high school, the failure limit is lower. They will be able to move forward with up to three pending disciplines, also subject to compliance with the recovery plan. These subjects must be completed by the end of the first quarter of the following year, when the High School completion certificate will be released.
According to the State Department of Education, progression will not be automatic. The student will only maintain their place in the next grade if they complete all the stages of the recovery plan established by the school. Otherwise, you may lose your right to advance.
