Sturm Graz wrestles Ried down and is close to the top of the table


Graz – Football champions Sturm Graz rehabilitated themselves for their exit in the cup quarter-finals against Altach in the first league game of the new year. The Graz team won 1-0 at home against SV Ried on Sunday thanks to a late goal from Jacob Peter Hödl (86th). Neo-coach Fabio Ingolitsch’s team is now only one point behind the top duo Salzburg and LASK in third place in the table. Newcomer Ried initially slipped out of the championship group ranks in seventh place.
