If you have arachnophobia, or a phobia of spiders, skip this article. In Britain, these spiders have proliferated, and you can also find them here. And they can grow to the size of a human hand.
Spiders are a very unpleasant subject for many people. The fact that they’re not supposed to kill each other because it supposedly brings good luck is very easily forgotten when you see him lurking in the corner of the room. But why do people have a phobia of them? They are simply creepy, much creepier than any insect. Insects have 3 pairs of legs and 2 eyes.
But no, in short, spiders must have 8 legs and usually 4 pairs of eyes. Of course, their legs and bodies must be hairy, and without hairy and big sharp mandibles, it simply wouldn’t be possible. And there are species that can run really fast, jump, and some even fly. They are, in short, very scary.

Wetland Hunter
And one of the largest spiders in Great Britain has multiplied. At first, however, it was the other way around, and a spider called the Wetland Hunter was almost on the verge of extinction.
That is why it became a protected species in Great Britain and special reserves began to be created for it in its natural environment, i.e. near water, in marshes, and as the name already suggests, in short and well in wetlands. The spider, which grows to the size of a human hand, began to do so well that it went from a state of near extinction to overpopulation.
And for arachnophobes, we have really bad news. These spiders also live here. It used to live only at ponds in Třeboňsk, Dokesk and Děčínsk, but recently it probably got lost and was also discovered near rivers in České Budějovice, in areas of southern Moravia, as well as in Břeclavsk and Podyjí. So far, they are not overpopulated here, and all the people of Prague sincerely hope that it will avoid the Vltava.
What this spider can do
And to add to the bad news, this spider is no ordinary spider. Not only is it big, it makes cobwebs and is really ugly. He’s one of the Jesuses of the spider realm, which doesn’t mean he turns water into wine, but he can walk on water.
And that’s not all, as he can also jump. Its food is mainly tadpoles and small fish. Finally, we have good news for you. And the thing is, even though this spider is incredibly creepy, it is harmless to humans.
