Luciana Gimenez’s name was widely discussed on social media this Monday (9) by have been cited in the series of documents released by the United States (US) Department of Justice about the Epstein case. The files show millionaire transfers destined for the presenter.
In documents dated 2014, 2018 and 2019, the name of the children of GimenezLucas Jagger and Lorenzo Gabriel, also appear. However, in the published material there is no explicit reason as to what the transactions are about or whose account they came from.
On Instagram, Gimenez published an opinion about the case. The publication says that You never want the presenter to meet Jeffrey Epstein and that he also had no personal, professional or financial contact with the billionaire at any point in his life.
The note also clarifies that, after Luciana Gimenez’s name was linked to Epstein, she contacted Deutsche Bank Trust Company Americas, where she had an account abroad, to discover the reason for the association of names and waits for a response.
However, according to initial information, the history was requested from the bank by the US government. “According to preliminary information obtained from the bank, the American government requested records from the financial institution in certain periods, without any individual selection of data or specific linking“, explained the note.
At the end, the clarification says that the set of documents acquired was forwarded and published without prior investigation of content and context. That’s why Gimenez’s name appears alongside so many other bank customers who made transfers at the same time as the billionaire, but all the transfers presented were made from the presenter’s investment account to her own personal account.
Gimenez remains at the disposal of the authorities to provide all necessary clarifications.
Investigations into the Epstein case
Police in Palm Beach, Florida, began their investigation into Epstein in 2005 after the family of a 14-year-old girl reported that she had been abused at his mansion. The US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) joined the case, and authorities collected statements from several teenage girls who said they were hired to perform “sexual massages” on Epstein.
Despite this, prosecutors ended up offering Epstein a deal that allowed him to avoid federal prosecution. He pleaded guilty to state charges of prostitution involving a minor under 18 and was sentenced to 18 months in prison.
Jeffrey Epstein was 66 years old when he was found dead on August 10, 2019 in the cell he occupied in a federal prison in New York.
