Vienna – The number of bankruptcies rose for the fifth year in a row in 2025. There were 6,809 bankruptcies, four percent more than in the previous year. “The three most affected economic sectors were services and then almost equally trade and construction,” said Statistics Austria General Director Manuela Lenk, according to Tuesday’s broadcast. However, four percent more companies were registered last year than the year before.
