Who was Jeffrey Epstein?
New York native Jeffrey Epstein began his career with a brief stint as a teacher at a prestigious private school.
It wasn’t long before he entered the investment banking business. He worked at Bear Stearns before starting his own company in 1982.
At the company, Epstein exclusively served clients with assets worth more than US$1 billion, according to a CNN report.
By the 1990s, he had accumulated properties and apartments in several countries, according to court documents, including a private island in the Caribbean. He also lived with some of the richest and most powerful people in the world.
Among those people were then-Prince Andrew, former President Bill Clinton and Donald Trump, all of whom deny any wrongdoing related to the financier.
