Regensburg – After an ax attack on a German ICE train on the way from Hamburg to Vienna last July, the public prosecutor’s office in Regensburg, Bavaria, has requested that the attacker be placed permanently in a psychiatric hospital. It can be assumed that the accused was innocent when the crime took place on July 3, 2025, the public prosecutor’s office announced on Wednesday. The now 21-year-old man is said to still be dangerous.
