In a video with anti-Semitic content published on social media, writer Jessé Souza associated the case of sex offender Jeffrey Epstein with what he called the “Jewish lobby”.
In the video published on Instagram, the sociologist even stated that “Epstein is the most perfect product of Jewish Zionism” and said that the tycoon “was not only financed by the Jewish lobby […]but Zionism is the driving force behind all the crimes that have been committed.”
Due to the repercussion of the speech, Jessé deleted the recording last Monday (9).
After publication, Conib (Confederação Israelita do Brasil) spoke out and stated that it is “regrettable that Jessé uses his projection in academic life and social networks as a platform for disseminating concepts full of hatred against Jews”.
The case, convicted sex offender, who died in 2019 inside prison. He commanded, alongside the ex-namorada, Ghislaine Maxwellan international network of sexual exploitation and trafficking of minors.
According to Conib, Jessé Souza associated the responsibility for Epstein’s actions with the ethno-religious group through the use of terms such as “Jewish Zionism”, “Jewish lobby”, “Jewish supremacism” and “Jewish Holocaust pimped by Zionism”.
“Caught, he removed the content from the air and replaced it with a new attack on the Jews, now demonizing “only” the Zionists (a term that refers to the defense of the Jewish people’s self-determination and the right to a State)”, stated the confederation.
Wanted by CNN Brazilthe writer stated in a note that “he did not accuse individuals or communities, but a ‘power structure'”. Souza also regretted what happened and stated that he “made a mistake in not properly separating the expressions ‘Zionist lobby’ and ‘Jewish'”.
Still according to Jessé Souza, “the video was taken down as soon as the error was noticed.” Finally, Souza reaffirms his rejection of all acts of discrimination.”
Understand what the “Epstein Files” are
During the sex trafficking investigation and prosecution of Jeffrey Epstein and his accomplice and ex-girlfriend Ghislaine Maxwell, federal prosecutors gathered millions of documents.
The “Epstein Files” contain more than 300 gigabytes of data, documents, videos, photographs and audio stored in the FBI’s main electronic case management system, the US federal investigations agency, the “Sentinel”.
These records include investigative reports and documents from the original FBI investigation in Miami.
Most of the records would come from the second investigation carried out by the FBI’s New York office, including memos about the investigation and possible targets, locations to be searched and hundreds of pages of “302 forms”, which are the documents that agents use to record what witnesses, victims and suspects said in interviews with investigators.
