Matovič should have apologized for his statements about calves and drunkards: he did THIS instead!

Member of the National Council (NR) of the Slovak Republic Igor Matovič (Slovakia – For the People) spoke in plenary on Friday. On the basis of the resolution of the Mandate and Immunity Committee of the NR SR, he should have apologized for his statements about “calves and drunkards”. However, Matovič did not apologize, instead criticizing the coalition. He called the complaints and the mandate committee’s decision a political process.

  • Igor Matovič did not apologize for his statements in the plenary session of the Slovak Parliament.
  • An apology was required by a resolution of the Mandate and Immunity Committee.
  • Instead of apologizing, Matovič criticized the government coalition.
  • He described the complaints and the committee’s decision as a political process.
  • He compared the proceedings to trials from the 1950s.

“The majority on the mandate and immunity committee, made up of his colleagues, decided that a defendant Tibor Gašpar had given an instigation,” declared Matovič. He compared the proceedings regarding his statements to the trials of the 1950s.
