Clean, white is the dream of everyone who sets up a washing machine. Unfortunately, it sometimes happens that instead of fresh, snow-white things, we take out gray and odorless things. Although we usually blame it on the wrong detergent or the wrong program, it’s possible that it’s our own fault. A certain element of the washing machine may affect the quality of the items removed from it after washing. What exactly is this about?
Many washing machines have a small flap located in the detergent compartment. Most users do not pay attention to it. Meanwhile, omission or improper use may negatively affect the washing effect.
The flap is located in the place where liquid is most often poured. This is exactly the flap in the main wash compartment. It is used for precise dosing of liquid and also protects the detergent when prewash is turned on.
After lowering the flap, a scale appears on many models. It helps you measure the right amount of detergent. If there is too little of it, the laundry may not be clean. If we pour too much of it, sediment and an unpleasant smell may appear. Fabrics may also wear out faster.
And if we turn it on initial, the flap will act as a barrier to the liquid (it will not act as a barrier to the powder). The idea is to prevent the liquid from entering the drum too early. Prewash removes basic dirt, then pumps out the water and gets started main wash. Without the flap, the detergent would go into the washing machine first, and the main wash would essentially be done without it.
In case of heavy dirt or stains, prewash it is recommended that the items be washed. Laundry may come out gray from the drum if the liquid enters it at the wrong time (i.e. too early). So, if after washing our clothes are not clean and do not smell fresh, and we use prewash and liquid, it is worth checking the condition of the flap in the detergent drawer.
