Gold for Braathen and Brazil in a very special giant slalom, ÖSV comes away empty-handed

Bormio – Lucas Pinheiro Braathen left nothing to be desired in the final of the Olympic giant slalom in Bormio. The Norwegian, who competes for Brazil, confidently brought his dominant half-time lead to the finish line and won gold for his mother’s homeland. The 25-year-old technician from Oslo parried Marco Odermatt’s attack and prevailed in 2:25.00 minutes, 0.58 seconds ahead of the Olympic champion in Beijing 2022. Another Swiss, Loic Meillard, won bronze, while his colleague Thomas Tumler came home empty-handed in fourth place.
