Stubai Glacier – Two snowboarders aged 37 were killed in an avalanche on the Stubai Glacier (Innsbruck-Land district) on Sunday. The Austrians had not returned that evening and a large-scale search operation was launched. Using a cell phone bearing, the search area was initially narrowed down between “Dresdner Hütte” and the “Gamsgarten” valley station. With the help of drone images, the avalanche cone was finally discovered at an altitude of 2,115 meters.
