STF: Mendonça says that profits from his institute will be donated – 02/18/2026 – Politics

The minister of the (Supreme Federal Court) said, in a video published on his social networks, that part of the profits from the company, Instituto Iter, will go to the church’s tithe. The remainder will be allocated to social works.

The institute sells minister’s courses and specializes in legal content. The newspaper O Estado de S. Paulo reported in 2025 that the company earned R$4.8 million in public contracts in just over a year.

“I, my wife, under the blessings of my children, decided that our part of the Iter Institute will be for the consecration of an altar to God. Everything that possibly brings profit and results, I will set aside 10% for the tithe and the remaining 90% will be invested in social works and education”, said Mendonça, in a video published last Wednesday (11).

The minister was selected on Thursday (12) to report on the case, after a meeting with all Supreme Court ministers in which it was agreed that he would leave the report on the investigations.

At the time, Toffoli’s image was already damaged by the revelation that he presented to the president of the STF, Edson Fachin, a report with Daniel Vorcaro, owner of Master, which mentions Toffoli.

Toffoli, a family company that sold its stake in the Tayayá resort in 2021 to a fund belonging to banker Daniel Vorcaro.

As a survey of the Sheetnine Supreme Court ministers and 12 direct relatives are partners in at least 31 companies. Thirteen are law firms or law institutes, and six operate in the management, purchase, sale and rental of their own properties.

The total number of companies may be higher, as hidden partners may be omitted from public records.

In addition to being a minister, Mendonça works at the Pinheiros Presbyterian Church, in São Paulo.
