The men’s snowboard slopestyle event was the first to award medals this Wednesday (18), the 15th day of the Milan-Cortina Winter Olympic Games.
Chinese Yiming Su took gold, with 82.41 points. Japanese Taiga Hasegawa, with 82.13, took silver. Bronze went to North American Jake Canter, with 79.36.
In the women’s team cross-country ski sprint, Sweden came first. The duo Jonna Sundling and Maja Dahlqvist completed the circuit in a time of 20min29s99. The Swiss came second, with 20min31s39. Third place went to the Germans, who clocked 20min35s86.
Brazilian skiers Bruna Moura and Eduarda Ribera finished in 21st place and ended their participation in this edition of the Games. As a result, the pair were left out of the final, to which only the 15 best classified advanced. It was the country’s best performance in the competition.
In the men’s version of the race, the gold went to the Norwegian team, with a time of 18min28s98. The North American pair took silver, in 18:30.35. The Italians Elia Barp and Federico Pellegrino, with 18min32s29, won the bronze.
North American Mikaela Shiffrin, with a time of 1min39s10, won the gold medal in alpine skiing. Camille Rast, from Switzerland, with 1min40s60, won silver. Swedish Anna Swenn Larsson took bronze in 1min40s81.
In the women’s 4 x 6 km relay biathlon, the French team was the winner, ahead of the Swedish and Norwegian teams.
Norway continues to lead the medal table, with 15 gold medals. Italy is second, with nine, and the USA is third, with seven golds.
Brazil appears 18th in the ranking, with the gold won by Lucas Pinheiro in alpine skiing.
