A project presented in the interior of Mato Grosso foresees the creation of a new municipality that should be named in honor of the minister of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), Gilmar Mendes. The proposal, launched on Saturday (21), was officially named New Northern Alliance, but is now called “Gilmarlândia”. The information is from the newspaper State sheet.
The future city is planned for an area located between Diamantino and São José do Rio Claro, around 300 kilometers from Cuiabá. If implemented, it will be the 143rd municipality in Mato Grosso.
Born in Diamantino, Gilmar Mendes participated in the launch event. During the ceremony, he defended the union between public institutions, private initiatives and the local community to make the project viable and boost regional development.
Opportunity with security!
The project is led by rural producer Eraí Maggi and envisages the construction of a planned city in a region marked by the expansion of agribusiness. The proposal seeks to meet the growing demand for urban infrastructure, public services and administrative support in an area of strong agricultural activity.
The meeting brought together political leaders, businesspeople and local representatives to discuss technical, legal and social aspects of possible emancipation. The creation of a new municipality depends on legal steps, such as feasibility studies and public consultations, before eventual approval.
