Several high-ranking allies and cartel members linked to Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, known as “El Mencho,” are in U.S. custody, with some serving long prison sentences, according to the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.
The drug trafficker was involved during the operation supported by United States intelligence on Sunday (22).
At least in the country died during clashes in the state of Jalisco with criminals after the operation.
Rubén “El Menchito” Oseguera González
Son of Oseguera, he was sentenced to life in prison in March 2025.
Rubén was second in command of the CJNG () and led the cartel for almost seven years, during which time he ordered the deaths of more than 100 people, according to the Drug Enforcement Administration.
American authorities describe him as “one of the main responsible for the fentanyl epidemic in the United States”.
Abigael González Valencia
Oseguera’s brother-in-law, Abigael González faces drug trafficking charges in the United States.
He was one of the leaders of the Los Cuinis cartel, which served as the financial and logistical arm of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel. González was arrested in February 2015 in Puerto Vallarta and was one of 26 cartel members that Mexico extradited to the US in August 2015.
José González Valencia
Leader of the Los Cuinis cartel along with his brothers, José González is serving a 30-year sentence in the USA for drug trafficking.
He was arrested in 2017, during Trump’s first term, in a , while on vacation with his family using a false name.
Cristian “El Guacho” Fernando Gutiérrez-Ochoa
Oseguera’s son-in-law, El Guacho is a high-ranking member of the CJNG who was sentenced to 11 years in prison in the US for international money laundering conspiracy in December 2025.
Brother of “El mencho” and others
Mencho’s older brother, Antonio “Tony Montana” Oseguera Cervantes, CJNG’s alleged main financial and logistical operator, and Érick “El 85” Valencia Salazar, alleged co-founder of the group and close advisor to Oseguera, were among 29 cartel leaders wanted and arrested in the US in February 2025.
El Mencho’s wife was already imprisoned
Rosalinda González Valencia was the wife of Oseguera and the wife of cartel leader Abigael González Valencia.
She was arrested in 2021 by Mexican authorities, accused of being a financial operator for a criminal group.
She was released in 2025 after a brief stint in a Mexican prison.
