I’ve heard a lot about the benefits vinegar combined with warm water and dishwashing liquid. However, previously it seemed to me that store-bought remedies were faster and more effective. When one of them ran out recently and I didn’t have anything else on hand, I remembered this homemade recipe. It worked phenomenally for me, so I’m happy to share this recipe with you.
The solution itself is prepared in just a moment, and you only need:
- 1/2 cup of vinegar,
- 1/2 cup of warm water,
- 5-6 drops of dishwashing liquid.
Vinegar is responsible for dissolving minerals, warm water helps distribute the mixture evenly, and a few drops of the liquid increase the ability to remove greasy marks and cosmetics. The combination of these three ingredients in the right proportions guarantees success – not only in the cabin, because you can also successfully use it for polishing mirrors or sanitary facilities.
For even and comfortable application it is best to pour the solution into a spray bottle. This way, spraying is accurate and convenient, and the preparation reaches the entire surface evenly.
The shower cabin is an environment conducive to the deposition of minerals. Water, especially hard water, leaves microscopic traces on glass and fittings. Over time, they transform into visible coatingwhich is becoming increasingly difficult to remove. Don’t wait for the coating to harden, but act immediately. This way you will avoid scrubbing and the need.
Vinegar works differently. His acidic reaction naturally reacts with limestone deposits. It does not mask or cover the odor, but reaches specifically to the source of the problem and starts working there. It simply dissolves what is responsible for tarnishing the glass. Warm water additionally supports the entire process, and a bit of dish soap improves wetting of the surface and breaking down cosmetic residues.
The best time to clean the shower cabin is after a bath. After a shower, when the glass is still damp, simply:
- Spray the surface of the windows and cabin elements.
- Leave the preparation for several dozen seconds.
- Rinse with water or wipe with a soft cloth.
Regular use makes it there is no time to accumulate and any dirt is only superficialso easy to remove. It’s a bit like washing dishes – it’s better to do it right away than to postpone it.
For heavier dirt, you can let the solution work a little longer. There is no risk of damaging the glass or typical seals, which can be problematic in the case of strong chemicals. Simply Spray the surface and leave it for 20-30 minutes and only after this time proceed to the next steps.
